Este es un post potpourrí (¿se escribe así?), con cosillas pequeñas y grandes que me han pasado en este mes y medio.

¡El Me-Made-May! A pesar de la falta de evidencia fotográfica, SÍ que participé al 100%, todos los días del mes de Mayo. Durante las vacaciones, para trabajar y en casa. Cumplí mis objetivos de terminar proyectos medio abandonados y llevar vestidos (casi) todos los días. He participado 3 veces y esta es la primera vez que lo he hecho cómodamente, sin estrés, y disfrutando un montón. Conclusión: después de más de 2 años cosiendo por fin me siento cómoda con la ropa que coso (cómoda como opuesto a roja hasta las orejas de vergüenza). De hecho, ahora en verano estoy poniéndome los vestidos que hice el año pasado unas 2-3 veces por semana.

En las vacaciones en BCN quedé con Mari Cruz, a la que seguro que conocéis del blog Dedal, aguja e hilo (y si no, ya tardais, y no lo digo por peloteo porque me haya tocado un patrón en el sorteo ¡SISISISI!). Nos dimos una vueltecilla por las mercerías y tiendas de tela del centro y por supuesto no dejé pasar la oportunidad de acumular comprar material.

¿Qué mas? Ah si, Maria José me ha dado un premio (¡gracias !) y hace un par de semanas volví a juntarme con otras costureras como ya viene siendo la costumbre (más fotos en el blog de Sigrid.

Si ya lo decía yo que esto es un no parar.

I tell ya, it's been non-stop fun lately. Let's just recap what's been going on since I last posted, back in May.

Me -Made-May! Despite lack of photo evidence, I did it! I've worn clothes made my me for a full month, every single day. On holidays, at work and at home. I also met my two goals for the challenge: finish up lots of UFOs and wear dresses (almost) every day. My conclusion of this year MMM: after 2 years of sewing I feel comfortable wearing my me-made clothes, I enjoyed participating (as opposed to previous years, when I was stressed out after 2 weeks). In fact, this summer I'm wearing tons of dresses I made last year without feeling embarrassed but actually quite proud.

When I was in Barcelona I met up with fellow Spanish blogger Mari Cruz from Dedal, aguja e hilo (Spanish only) who is the sweetest girl ever. We visited her favourite fabric/haberdashery shops where I piled up bought some stuff. Oh, and totally unrelated, but I won a giveaway on her blog (a Paco Peralta cape pattern, yay!).

What else? Oh yeah, won a price (thanks!!) and a week ago I met up with fellow sewists in Arnhem, see Sigrid's blog to read about our adventures.

Life is sweet.

¿Estáis participando en el Me-Made-May 12? Si es así, ¡mucha suerte a todas! Aquí chez Bullock estoy maquinando para hacer las fotos un poco divertidas, porque si no menudo aburrimiento, para mí y para los demás. Sólo voy a dedicarle un post al final del mes, pero quien quiera seguir el reto que se pase por el Flickr del grupo.

Una diosa doméstica, está claro.

Estoy a dos días de irme de vacaciones y voy terminando projectos a toda castaña (eso es lo bueno de los UFOs, que al estar medio terminados voy a velocidades supersónicas). De momento tengo listos: 2 vestidos, 1 pantalon y 2 tops (uno de ellos el Prendrell de Sewaholic y ES PRECIOSÍSIMO). Todo será fotografiado en Barcelona, pero no creo que me de tiempo a actualizar el blog durante las vacaciones.

Me voy a hacer la maleta, ¡hasta luego Lucas!

A domestic goddess, I ain't.

I'm going on holidays this friday (Barcelona!) so I'm finishing UFO's at the speed on light (that's the good thing about UFO's, most of them are almost ready!). I can't hardly believe what I've accomplished lately: 2 dresses, 1 pair of trousers and 2 tops (one of them is the long due Prendrell from Sewaholic and IT'S SO PRETTY). I'll make proper photos in Barcelona, that Mediterranean light is incredible, but probably the blog will be updated after the holidays.

Me-Made-May '12

¡Es oficial! De nuevo Zoe ha organizado un "mes hecho por mí":

Yo, Irene Bullock, me apunto como participante del Me-Made '12. Me comprometo a vestir una prenda hecha por mí cada día del mes de Mayo.

Y lo más importante, ¿quién se apunta? Para la gente que lleva cosiendo toda la vida y viste regularmente ropa hecha por ellas mismas, este tipo de retos no tienen misterio. Bueno, para mí es diferente, hay ciertos vestidos que me pongo a menudo, pero son la excepción y no la regla.

Aparte, hay dos cosillas relacionadas con este reto:

1. Son vaguetona en el diario, del tipo vaqueros + rebeca y tira millas. Así que voy a aprovechar para ponerme vestidos (o faldas) todo el mes de mayo. Cruzo los dedos para que haga buen tiempo.

2. En vez de correr a la máquina de coser a empezar algo nuevo, voy a aprovechar el mes de Abril para terminar UFOs de una vez por todas. Hay un montón, he aquí un par de ejemplos:

¡Buen fin de semana!

It's official, people! Me-Made-May '12, organized by the lovely Zoe, is back!

I, Irene Bullock, sign up as a participant of Me-Made-May '12. I endeavour to wear a me-made garment each day for the duration of May 2012.

And, more importantly, who's in? I know some of you, long time sewists, wear me-made stuff on daily basis (lucky girls!), but for people like me it's quite a challenge to participate in a MMM month.

Two things related to this:

1. I'm often lazy when it comes to my daily wear, as in jeans, cardi, go! Well, no more: for this MMM12 I'm upping my game and I'll try to wear only dresses. I hope that the unpredictable Dutch weather will cooperate this year *sigh*

2. Instead of running to the sewing machine to make new stuff, I'm going to spend most of April finishing UFOs. And there are many of them, here's just a sample:
