Soñando que ya es primavera ...

Descripción del patrón:
Minifalda en dos largos (A, 45 cms y B, 52cms) con bolsillos, cinturilla curva y suave linea evasé. Yo he sacado el largo B (justo encima de la rodilla).

Talla del patrón:
34-44, yo he sacado la 36, mi habitual en Burda.

Una vez que terminaste de coserlo, ¿se parecía a la foto/dibujo del sobre?
Si, excepto un par de pequeños cambios.

¿Fueron las instrucciones fáciles?
Si, pero yo he cambiado el orden. Me gusta poner la cremallera lo primero de todo, *antes* de coser el resto de costuras verticales, me resulta más fácil de esta manera.

¿Qué te gusta/no te gusta específicamente?
- Me gusta que es un patrón básico y sin complicaciones, clásico Burda. En 6 horas de costura estaba terminado, que para mi es ir a la velocidad de la luz. La ligera línea evasé hace imposible cometer errores de ajustes.

- No coso con frecuencia patrones básicos (fondos de armario) porque es aburrido, es costura utilitaria, bah. Es broma, en realidad estoy muy contenta.

¿Qué tela has usado?
Un retal de lana gris oscuro, de tacto suave. Me lo regalaron en Navidades, pero era tan pequeño (0.65cm x 1.45m) que nunca pensé que lo iba a poder usar. Al final me las he arreglado para que me quede un trozo lo suficientemente grande como para hacerle una falda a mi sobrina.

¿Has cambiado algo del patrón?
Si, varias cosas:
- He omitido los bolsillos, porque la lana es un poquitín recia y no quería que al moverme se abrieran (atraer atención a la barriga, no gracias).

- He cambiado la cremallera de sitio, en vez de estar en la costura central trasera ahora está en el lateral derecho. Esto es por 1. ahorrarme una costura y 2. porque no tengo en este momento cremalleras invisibles, sólo de las normales y no me arriesgo a que no queden bien y el personal se vaya fijando en mi trasero. La cremallera es solapada.

- Le he puesto forro, porque la lana pica y el poliéster de ínfima calidad es barato y abundante.

¿Lo volverás a coser? ¿Lo recomiendas a otros?
Si y si. Es un patrón básico, con o sin bolsillos, en una tela de verano o de invierno. Es tan simple que con un retal de medio metro es suficiente (versión A, mini-mini). Y es ideal para principiantes.

Conclusión:
Tomé nota de este patrón por primera vez leyendo el blog de Eugenia (no es la primera vez, esta mujer tiene una habilidad especial para descubrir tesoros escondidos en el Burda). Se presta a variaciones y cubre un hueco en el fondo de armario. Una falda oscura de invierno, ‘de diario’, que probablemente me ponga muchas veces.

Day dreaming of spring ...

Pattern Description:
Miniskirt in two lengths (A, 45 cms and B, 52 cms) with front pockets, curved waistband and soft A-line. I did view B (just above the knee).

Pattern Sizing:
34-44, I did size 36, my usual in Burda.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, except some changes.

Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes, but I did change the construction order. I like to insert the zipper first, before sewing the vertical seams, I find it easier that way.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
- It’s a basic pattern and hassle-free, classic Burda. It was finished under 6 hours (for me this is the speed of lightning, I'm a slow sewer). The slight A line makes it impossible to make fitting problems.

- I don’t usually sew basic patterns (wardrobe builders) because it’s boring, utilitarian sewing, bah! Just joking, I’m quite happy with this one.

Fabric Used:
A soft dark grey wool. This tiny remnant (0.65cm x 1.45cm) was given to me last Christmas (as a part of a bigger sewing-related present) and I thought I’d never use it. Well, I’ve managed to have a semi large scrap leftover that will be a little girl’s skirt soon.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
- I’ve omitted the front pockets, because the fabric is a bit thick and it will gap the moment I move (attract attention to my tummy, no thanks).

- I’ve moved the zipper, from the CB to the right side. This is because I’ve run out of invisible zippers, I only have regular ones. I wanted to make it lapped, but was not sure it’d work out. I’m not taking the risk of having a weird thing on my derriere, on the side it’s easy to camouflage mistakes. It’s done, it looks ok but not perfect, so it was a good decision.

- I’ve lined it, the wool is soft but still a bit screechy.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes and yes. I’m imaging it in a light fabric for summer, maybe with pockets this time. And it’s ideal for beginners.

Conclusion:
I discovered this pattern reading Eugenia’s blog (she really has a talent to discover hidden Burda gems!). It’s a versatile pattern: light fabrics or thick ones, with or without pockets, the length. It’s great to use with tiny remnants or leftovers from other projects. A great wardrobe builder, in this case a warm dark skirt, a workhorse that I’ll be wearing for winters to come.
