Simplicity Naaimode

Español
English

¡Ya he vuelto!

SIM2285 Abrigo tipo lammy y chaleco (portada)
SIM2520 Vestuario (ya descatalogado)
NL6000 Vestido tipo Joan (Mad men)
SIM2566 Vestuario (Tallas grandes)
SIM2758 Falda y blusa (Threads)
SIM2289 Batamanta
SIM2442 Vestido de fiesta
SIM2544 Vestido de fiesta (Tallas grandes)
SIM2480 Bodywarmers para él y ella (!!)

I'm back! Back to the light, after spending a week and a half in dark movie theatres ...

Since I had no time to sew, I just wanted to let you know about this gem of a sewing mag. I was a while ago at the newsstand, laughing at the weird designs of La Mia Boutique, when something catched my eye ... could it be true?

A Simplicity magazine! It picked my curiosity, so I start browsing it. It's issue #3 (how did I miss 1 and 2? I should read the PR forums more often, right Hilde?). So I start jumping of joy when I see New Look 6000, a pattern I've been coveting for a while.

Explanations are same as in envelope patterns, illustrated and all. It contains only 4 sizes per pattern, and size 36 is probably a 10, so I'll have to resize it, but hey.

Besides this NL6000 and a skirt/blouse combo, the rest is a bit blah. There's the potentially cool but in reality a disaster pattern, like this mod dress.

And then there's the should be forbidden type like a snugglie (WHY?) or the hideous his and hers.

After stalking the Simplicity website, I've managed to identify most of the patterns in the mag, in case anybody is interested.

SIM2285 Lammy coat (cover)
SIM2520 Wardrobe OOP
NL6000 Joan dress
SIM2566 Plus Size wardrobe
SIM2758 Skirt and Blouse (Threads)
SIM2289 Snugglie
SIM2442 Special Occasion dress
SIM2544 Special Occasion Plus Size
SIM2480 His and Hers bodywarmers

  1. That's interesting, I assume it must be cheaper than buying the envelope patterns?

  2. I saw this somewhere also. And, not in English. I can't remember where though. I think maybe a coworker brought it back from Ukraine for me?

  3. @Molly - yes, definitively. The mag costs 5.40€ (about 7$) and contains 10-12 patterns. If I'd buy only NL6000, with shipping costs and all it'd be around 10€.

@Cidell - on closer inspection I see that it's been published in different languages, more on that later.
