No hay nada mejor para echarle el gafe a un proyecto que publicarlo antes de tiempo en el blog ¡bien! El vestido curvilíneo* está en pausa - sólo me falta ponerle las ballenas al forro/corsé, pero es que requiere dedicarle un tiempo y concentración que ahora mismo no tengo. Ahora mismo tengo en mi mesa 6 UFOs (unfinished objects - prendas a medio terminar). Si. 6 (!!).
En fin, pasemos a uno que he conseguido terminar - palmadita en la espalda - el top asimétrico de Burda 07-2011-113, que voy a nombrar Lula por ser la pareja perfecta para Sailor ¿qué?. Durante todo el verano los blogs han estado revolucionados con los tops de tela tipo Pendrell o Sorbetto. Una alternativa elegante a la omnipresente camiseta, tipo arreglá pero informal, ya me entendéis.
La historia es que estaba en Spain y había comprado un montón de metros de tela de un algodón finísimo (¿batista o voile? ¿es lo mismo? un día de estos tendría que agenciarme un libro tipo esto). La cuestión es que tiene un tacto suavísimo y me encanta, algún día el resto de la tela se convertirá en el Chantilly. Al grano, que estaba de vacances y no tenía el Pendrell a mano para probarlo. Aquí entra el Burda de Julio, que tiene cosas raricas (¿en serio Burda, en serio?), pero también otras muy interesantes (toda la sección en negro).
Este top asimétrico lo he hecho como siempre a ojo, terminándolo con cinta al bies tanto en las mangas como el escote para darle un poco de gracia. No hay botones (¡bien!) ni ningún tipo de cierre y es facilito de coser (en una tarde si estás en plan productivo). Primer plano en Patty:
Eso sí, el Pendrell, la falda Crescent y el vestido Lonsdale se han quedado pendientes, quizás para la primavera.
*La RAE y el corrector de Word me informan que me he inventado la palabra "curváceo". A veces se me va la pinza pero bien.
There's no better way to jinx a project than to show it here before it's finished - yay! The Bombshell dress is currently on hold - just add the boning and I'm basically ready to go. But this requires time and concentration, both MIA at the moment. At press time, including the Bombshell, I have about 6 UFOs lingering around. YES. 6 (!!).
Never mind, here's something I've managed to finish - pat on the back - Burda Asymmetric Top 07-2011-113, which I'll call Lula, because it's the perfect partner for Sailor (say what?). This summer the whole blogosphere has been swept away with woven tops like the Pendrell or Sorbetto. It's a grown up alternative for t-shirts, a nice put together look and quite useful in the office, I may say.
When I was on holidays in Spain I bought a few meters of a super cute, semi sheer cotton (is this batiste or voile? what's the difference? One of these days I'll have to get this book). Someday I'll sew the Chantilly with the rest of the fabric, I adore it. But back to the point, I was staying at my folk's place, no Pendrell or fast internet connection, so I turned to the July issue of Burda, that contains the usual bizarre stuff (I mean, really?), but some interesting stuff as well.
I've gone my own way, as usual, and finished the collar and sleeves with bias tape for a bit of contrast. There are no buttons or closures (double yay!) and even *I* can sew this in a couple of hours (for the advanced sewer make that 30 min). Close up on Patty:
I still got pending the whole Sewaholic line, Pendrell, Crescent skirt and Lonsdale dress, they've been added to the ever growing waiting list.
I've though about tracing this top off too, but I'm not sure about the asymmetry yet. It looks great with your cute skirt though! ;)
